Hi there, I’m Christos. Born and raised in Cyprus(?), and having travelled and lived in various places around the world, including the UK, Russia, Italy, Spain and the Caribbean island of Martinique(!), I’m now here in Connecticut for the next five years to try and make sense of all the interesting linguistic data that has been thrown at me throughout my travels. My academic background includes a BA in Russian and French, as well as an MA in Linguistics, both from University College London. For my MA thesis, I worked on what people call ‘presuppositional negation’, and in particular, on the ways in which the grammar treats this type of negation differently that it does regular (propositional) negation. While I am still interested in the topic, I’m also very much looking forward to exploring a lot more of the syntactic and semantic wonderlands, with all of you.
