Philipp Weisser | New Post Doc

I am a postdoctoral fellow in the linguistics department at UConn. I recently received my PhD from Leipzig University in Germany. I am working in the areas of morphology and syntax and I am interested in a wide variety of topics including coordination and subordination (and things in between), switch-reference marking, syntactic and morphological ergativity, case marking in complex case systems and many others.

My dissertation discusses the syntax of clause chaining and so-called asymmetric coordination constructions. The research project I am currently working on under the supervision of Prof. Jonathan Bobaljik is concerned with the interaction of nominal coordination and case assignment.

I have been working on a number of different languages and language families including Uralic, Mayan, Papuan and Germanic.

Welcome, Philipp!
