Undergraduate Program

Major in Linguistics and Psychology

For the Linguistics and Psychology Major, a minimum of four courses (twelve credits) at the 2000 level or above from each department is required. For linguistics, LING 2010Q and LING 3110 are specifically required, in addition to which at least two more 2000 level or above linguistics courses can be chosen freely.

Specifically required psychology courses are: PSYC 2100Q and 3500, and at least two out of PSYC 2400, 2500, 2501, 3501, 3550W, and 3552.

All students in the Linguistics/Psychology Major are strongly encouraged to take LING5010/PSYC 5500 in their senior year.

Major in Linguistics and Philosophy

For the Linguistics and Philosophy Major, a minimum of four courses (twelve credits) at the 2000 level or above from each department is required. For linguistics, LING 3110 (Experimental Linguistics) and LING 3410Q (Semantics) are specifically required, for philosophy PHIL 3241 (Language: Meaning and Truth). At least two more linguistics and three more philosophy courses can be chosen freely at the 2000 level or above.
